Title: Video games you hate. Rant away minions, i mean fellow members
Post by: Shadow on September 17, 2005, 04:45:56 pm: This is self explanitory, so just post on what video games you hate with the white hot intensity of a thousand suns. For example, I HATE SUPERMAN 64! WORST GAME EVER! OMG THAT SUCKED, AND THAT WAS WHEN I WAS A LITTLE KID! A GAME THAT BAD DOES THINGS TO A PERSONS MIND! I still have nightmares. "shivers"

The concept of play a physical sport on my TV where I sit there and don't do anything physical but mash buttons, has never gone over well with me.

I also hate games with cheap A.I.

But as some of you are saying, I just think there was too much hype about it. There were better games before it; there's been better games since then. There wasn't anything truly unique which set it apart from others. So I dunno why it became so big, unless it's just because Microsoft had the money to whore it everywhere.

I'd like to point out I've put over 150 hours on both Pokemon Red and Ruby versions, and then all my tactical games I've probably put in atleast half that amount of time. SO as to how long they last, it could just be you haven't played any good ones, I suggest you check any of the games Gar listed.

Also about Batteries: They made GBA player and the rechargable SP for a reason.

Most any of the killer apps for XBOX IS HEUG, mostly Halo2, top my hate list. Its sad that some of these (KOTOR) turned out to be pretty decent games, buecause anywhere else I coulda loved them...

Consequently (prepairs for attack) I hate most RPG's, especially the Final Fantasy Series. I love a good story, but other then that the games just bore or annoy the hell out of me.

Well, I can't think of any but I don't like sports games, or crappy rpg's, or any of the newer racing games (by the way, newer to me means after top gear for the SNES! Can't get enough of that Sugar Criisp... err... Uber music!) Also, if someone takes a good game, like Pokémon red & blue, and bastardizes a bunch of shitty new games, that kinda of bs makes me mad. Honestly, some companies don't know when to stop.

and so forth and so in, you jump from a simple task of needing to get a key or something and it turns into half the game just to get the knowledge thet what you needed was in the town you visited forst or second. It's like the programmers were drawing a blank for a week and decided "Hey rather then just create more plot, or expand on the story.. let's make the player run around for three hours trying to find something we could just as easily give him."

Damn that's annoying.

I mean, when I'm playing multiplayer, I don't care about racing the clock, just beating the ONE other person I'm racing against.

Post by: Joefus on November 23, 2005, 08:30:53 pm: When ever I play Mario Sunshine I try to look at in a different light than I do any other Mario, particularly I don't try to pin it as a Mario 64 sequel (if I did I would be very disapointed). Instead I just go around and have lots of fun zooming around at high speeds on a blooper surfboard, or zipping across the water with the turbo nozzel. Of course there's also the ultimate guilty pleasure of turning Yoshi into a bunch of globbules of what-ever it is he turns into.

The only really dissapointing part of the whole game is the final boss fight, which is really just kinda stupid if you ask me.

Post by: MDude on November 23, 2005, 08:35:20 pm: Realy, I didn't like how they made you automaticaly leave the level when you got a shine. They could have let you stay in it like how Banj-Kanooie. Also, it would have been neat if there were portals directly from one world to another, seeing as how you can see the other levels when you look past the edge of the current one. And they didn't need to make you die when you came off of those squid things, seeing as how you would have to go back and get on them again anyways. However, at least some of my upsetedness came from how everyone else kept playing on the file I was using, so I never had any idea of what I already did!

Post by: ecto on November 23, 2005, 09:41:34 pm: Ultimate Spiderman. While the graphics and new animation were cool I felt it was just a cheap remake of the spider man 2 movie game. Not to mention the fact some levels just got plain annoying.
*Also games that make you go out and buy a different video card for them.

Post by: MDude on November 25, 2005, 09:13:34 am: One tme I was wondering if Elder Scrolls 3 or Neverwinter Nights were better for custom content. Because I wanted to get one, and only one. I got neverwinter Night because I wanted to play the stuff I make with other people, and Elder Scrolls 3 didn't have multiplayer. I installed Neverwinter Nights, and tried to have the quest start in a house, so i tried to make a house. The closest room type to a house was something like tavern or town bulding or something, so I went with that. The problem: For some reason, all the furniture gets placed automaticly, and you are unable to edit or delete it. I tried reading the help files, but they didn't say how to do anything but make dungeons and place monsters, and I wasn't doing that yet. So I just stopped using it. Eventualy, i also got tired of the single playe game. In addition to this, I never played the multiplayer game because I only wanted to do that with the custom areas.

Post by: Joefus on December 23, 2005, 04:51:55 pm: For a guy like me that really doesn't like super hard core fighters I've enjoyed all the current gen DBZ games. Each one had it's own little problems, like the second one's story suck big time, the third game was cheap and left to much up to random guessing. But all in all I've had fun playing them all.

P.S. the fourth one, Budokai Tenkaichi, is not a fighter but more in the vein of a one-on-one beat 'em up. Pretty fun and really fast paced
