“Radical change over time, I'll bite, what changes?”
“If the Nylarians destroy the ship any further from Earth, Zeltar never gets the wrecked shuttle here, and Fyber never fixes it and goes off to learn about the Zentaxians and their xenotech. His life is radically altered to a much more civilian path, and he never meets me in person, passes on xenotech, or gets on the bad side of Arvix or Turner, neither of whom ever find Xenotech either since the ships spiral away instead of into our gravity well.”
“Sounds boring. What about me?”
“Without Turner, you stay with your parents in the Midwest and become an average student, and never take up the name of 'Shadow.'”
“And you, aside from not learning about Xenotech?”
“I’ll be a high education student in the south somewhere.”
“All right, it all sounds wonderfully boring, what the catch of the idea?”
“We’d all still know each other anyway, thanks to an internet chat!”
“That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard Boris...”

After Fyber allowed rtfs on the forum, I took the opportunity to shape up that "pilot page" of J. Bowman's logs. Read it again and see if you like it better...!

Well, I can't say that this segment is as good as I wanted it to be, but I'll have chances to shape it up in the future. I just wanted to get it out of the way so I can go ahead with the main story, which takes place on the archipelago itself.
At any rate, tell me what you think.

Just an expreriment in playing with dialog. Also I really love the perfect crime genre, so I'm enjoying trying to think this up. Unfortunately what I have so far is the part that Fyber will just fast foreward through~ I don't even know how the heist actually goes yet.
