You know those games that aren't out yet but you know you want desperately, the ones that you salivate over every bit of news coverage on? the games you can't help but dream of? List them here.
LoZ: Twilight Princess
a LoZ game for DS
The next Resident Evil game
Fable 2
Phantasy Star Universe
and that's about it... it's been a while since I looked up new releases...
-
Fire emblem: (?)
-
I came across some screen shots for Resident Evil 5. The game should prove to be better then 4, but the catch is you'll probobly have to buy the ps3 in order to play it.
-
Say what?! They aren't make it for Nintendo!?
-
I have given up waiting for Twilight Princess and KH2, too long in development has drained all the hype out of the games. Now, Tales of Legendia has grabbed my attention. Same with Tales of Phantasia. umm the return of Rare to nintendo systems. MegaMan ZX et al. hmm actually none of these games really have me all that excited either, bah what I wouldn't give to go back and get some good ol SNES and Genesis games.
-
I'm with you there Joe, in my oppinion, the 16-bit systems were the Halcion days of gaming. When a game had to actually BE good instead of just look pretty. Where people cared about story and content over just asthetics. Back when a game took more than 10 hours to beat, but you enjoyed it all. I miss the days where a "good game" didn't have to have an athlete's name attatched. Where when you asked 100 people their favorite game you got a good amount of titles, not 40 people saying Madden, 40 saying Halo, and the other 20 saying GTA.
-
like that my fav Zelda ^_^
-
H8 Madden, H8 Halo, H8 GTA
Acutally I just fail to see what's so good about them.
-
Same here, I mean as far as Madden goes... the rules of Football do NOT change, so other than the rosters, what's the point of putting out 50 dollars every year for the same game, GTA, same thing, the missions are the same, the story changes slightly, and the gameplay is the same, you are looking at maybe three new vehicles. Halo, same game, both times, and from everything I saw, same thing as Goldeneye, only against aliens.
-
I prefer to blast commies over that Aliens any day. And about GTA, GTA3 was in a a sense a step in the right direction since it opened up the idea of open ended gameplay, but now that everyone's cloned it, it's lost it's novelty. Only some kinda intergrated interface of GTA and another series brings out the potential.
-
I just can't understand why people put out this money for games without realising they technically already have it. And then they will go to the greatest lengths to defend their purchase, like admitting it's not as good as they thought is a sin. When I worked Gamestop, I could tell someone "This years Madden has nothing different from last, save for the rosters" and they'd STILL buy it, then come back a week later to trade it in.
-
My list:
LoZ: Twilight Princess
Kingdom Hearts 2
Super Smash Bros. 3 (if they ever make one)
Lego Starwars 2
THERE YOU GO
-
I forgot KH2
-
KH2, all the way. Also, I heard a handy little rumor that *insert name of SSB:M developer* has been working on a super secret thing for the Revolution. We'll see though.

Update:
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles (DS)
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles (REV)
-
if they keep making re-do's and sequals, will the fantasy every truely be final?
-
Dude, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles is the SHIZZIT. It's a real time RPG. Frizzuk turn based final fantasy.
Leave turn-based to card games and Pokemon.
-
I've played FF:CC, I wasn't impressed to be honest, though that might just be because I stepped in on a friends game when they were halfway through and died from it... a lot....
-
Yeah, you can't really hop in from the middle, the monsters are hard as petrified shit. You gotta start from year one, maybe 2 if you wanna test your luck.
-
I played one of them a while ago. Not really my cup of tea. I'd rather play the normal versions of Final Fantasy.
-
GAH!!!
Who uses turn based anyway? NOONE! Turnbased sucks. Leave turnbased in Pokemon, and let it die.
-
I beg to differ.
-
Lies. Turn Based systems will live forever. They define RPGs. When you think turn based, you think RPG. Every Final Fantisy game ever that isn't a spinoff (FF:CC, Final Fantisy Legends, etc.) uses it. Star Ocean uses it. Your precious Fire Emblem uses it. Turn-based RPGs are long from dead.

Yeah, but FE is more of a turnbased strategy then an RPG
-
I hate turn-based fighting, not as much as tactics mind you, but they're right... it's not going to just poof and dissapear. It is a mainstay for most RPG's
-
Sadly so. That is why i like FFCC so much, because it's not a crappy turnbased Final Fantasy.
-
I like the Super Mario takes on turn based combat where you're not just standing tehre getting attacked, you can actually dodge most attacks if you timee a button press right.
-
THat sounds a bit more fun.
-
Not a game, but Im hopin to get xbox live for halo 2.
-
good Zelda
-
Turn based isn't so bad, I really like the whole ability to give out commands, quickly run to the bathroom or get a snack without having to worry if the enemy is going to repeitivly smash you.
What I hate is the ATB system. It's not quite real time combat, but it's not quite turn based, and it's definitly not the best of both worlds.
-
ATB?
-
ATB?
-
Active Time Bar, you know that little gauge that's next to your character's stats in combat? It slowly fills up and then you get to attack, it's damn annoying.
-
The little bar thing from Crono Trigger, now I know what your talking about.
-
Oh yeah, didn't FF7 have one of those?
-
who "FF7" ???
-
Final Fantasy
-
FFX-2 had a similar thing going on.
-
ohhh
-
Morrowind Oblivion
-
I am hoping Fable 2 has more of a Morrowind-esque character creation, I loved Fable, a more linear version of Morrowind, but not enough character involvement. It would be great if I could choose hair color, eye color, height, perportion, body type, gender, all those great things.
-
That would be great. It would be nice to have the ability to create character skins.
-
This may be obvious, but im looking forward to World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade. Hopefully by then my charecter will be level 60
-
Tetris DS has recently come to my attention recently and I must say that I want it so bad! I have never been so excited about Tetris before, but I have to say that playing tetris with Mario playing on the top screen is just so awsome an idea.
-
I have to espouse a preference for the ATB system in RPGs, I love ff7 and CT like you would not belive, and those timed engines are partially why. I do like the thing in Chrono Trigger where you can set it to let you browse menus in peace, looking for items or techs without getting beat on, which you can't change in ff7, but eh.
Anyway, the number one game I can't can't can't wait you get my hands on is Spore. The gameplay video makes me drool for that proceedurally generated wonderland of combination evo game, world sim, and galaxy builder.
