Mariokart's track intricacies

Jak and Daxter's fun and involving story lines
Add them all up and what do you get? Jak X Combat Racing. I love this game so far, the story line is wonderfull, the characters are cool, and the mood is still all dark and stuff. Unlike most spin-off games this one does it right. Personally I say anyone interested in the J&D series hsould check this out.

so like on a scale of one to ten how would you rate it. As I must admit I'm a little skeptical about this game, mainly about the car physics. I rember how damn hard those races were in Jak 3, going flying fifty miles into the air at the slightes bumb, and the horrible vehicle handling... Please say this is not so in Jak X.

The handeling is mostly improved, but as you upgrade your cars you do start running into this problem again.
But it's still a great game, I'm raiting it a 7.
Good story, good gameplay, they got the voices back, old characters return, new characters emerge. Though the plot seems slightly contrived at the beginning it's panning out really well. It's making me want to go back and play Jak 2 and Jak 3 again. Also the new offense/defense weapons system is very very nice.
Bad points:
Low health meter - You have infinite lives, but 1 hit can sometimes kill you
Mean Puter - Sometimes the computer seems to gang up on you, one driver will kill you, then as soon as you respawn another will do the same. Other times the computer will steal items or hoard them.
Obstacles - You'll hit walls, pipes, rocks, everything... and blow up almost each time... ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Pinto raceway.
Good points:
Speed - Lots and lots of frigging speed. forget that slow ass 150CC Mariokart, THIS is driving in the fast lane. Some races you go so fast the the track will blur
Weapons - Seaker missles, nova blasts, machine guns, crows feet, rear mounted guns, shields, oil slicks, smoke screens, dual or quad missle launchers, grenades, land mines, all these and more can be yours if the Eco is right!
Story - What can I say, since the inception of the series, Naughty Dog has whipped up great story lines (Most notable in Jak 2 & 3) and they did it again. It's an ever evolving plot with twists and hints at foul play.
In-Car-radios - Listen to other drivers talking trash... it can be funny at times.

I don't know much about Jak 2 or 3, but I remember the hours me and my friend would spend playing the first one. FUN TIMES... /me goes off down memory lane for all times

I barely ever played the first one, spent most o my time on the second, i have all three... kinda want to go back and re-play them again.. it was a great story.

lol I just saw the Jak X commercial last night. I gotta say, those commercials are always funny. They've blown all manners of crap up in'em, and it always looks real. They even had Jak in this one, and he looked pretty darn real too.
Or maybe I was thinking of those Ratchet and Clank commercials. But this Jak one reminded me of those!

The commercial i remember best was for Jak II, you see Daxter talking about the game while two hot girls listen, then Jak walks up and they're all swooning and all "Hiiii Jaak" and Daxter is all "Oh Hey buddy... heh heh" *cause the way he was telling the story he was saving Jaks life, not the other way round.

My favorite Jak & Daxter commercials were the ones for the original game. Seeing Daxter tough talking those cops on horses, truly funny stuff. Actually it was all those hillarious commercials that made me buy the first game. One and only time that an advertisment has ever convinced me to buy a game that previously knew little to nothing about.
