New Zealand Not For Sale

(1/2) > >>

FyberOptic:
Those wacky Australians are at it again.

New Zealand is not for sale, despite somebody in neighboring Australia trying to offload the nation of 4 million to the highest online bidder.

With a starting offer of just one cent, brisk bidding for the prime chunk of South Pacific real estate quickly boosted the price to 3,000 Australian dollars (US$2,330) before eBay pulled the plug on the auction this week.

Apparently the rivalry between the two countries is similar to the US/Canada thing, with Australia being the "noisy neighbor", and New Zealand supposedly full of nice but dull people.  I'd look more into the source of such rivarly, but I care as little about theirs as I do our own!

Unfortunately I can't seem to find the auction; prolly got totally pulled.  But you can read the original story at least.

Buzzard:
This is the best prank ever. Someone should do this for Canada and Mexico.

Mage:
No one will try to auction off Mexico. It's only worth about $5.

FyberOptic:
America should just buy Mexico and put an end to this immigration thing the easy way.

Mage:
Probably too much paperwork involved. You know how it is with government.
