Fybertech: The De Novo Project

The De Novo Project is an ongoing story written by FyberOptic based in the Fybertech universe, which depicts the events leading up through the first adventure of Fybertech as its own separate entity.

The De Novo Project takes a much more serious tone than anything featuring FyberOptic from the Hazard Labs days, or subsequent sprite comics. It also strikes a tone much closer to noir than straight science fiction due to the inclusion of Vito and his surrounding universe. The story also helps to develop the separate character of Boris as a nearby college student, providing a grounding character for Fyber in the story, and the general public in reading. (Though, to be fair, Fyber is written as an everyman who just happens to have alien technology.)

Currently, The De Novo Project is seen as the basic footprint for other Fybertech continuity. While the amount of seriousness and tone may devolve in subsequent works, De Novo thematically bases them in a sort of modern underground scifi/detective story setting, and all characters to be added in the future basically follow this.
