A Technical whiz with a long history, FyberOptic is the central figure in the Fybertech world.

Early Era and the Zentaxians
FyberOptic's interesting history with advanced technology beings with his encounter with Zeltar, a member of the people of Zentax. Once this occurs, he becomes embroiled in a conflict between the Zentaxians and another race, and acquires Zeltar's HEAT, which eventually becomes his own. At this point Fyber leaves Earth and eventually finds himself among the crew of the Yaering. Fyber's time among the Zentaxians and in the middle of conflict give him a unique perspective on Earth and technology, which becomes important in the Fybertech era. Eventually Fyber is given honors by the Zentaxian for the role he played, and tired of military service decides to return to Earth.
Founding Fybertech
After his war torn time with the Zentaxians, Fyber returned to earth simply seeking peace and quiet. For a time he wandered, doing odds and ends to sustain himself. Doing small jobs, he slowly realised his talent for tinkering was what he loved doing the most. In the Hazard Labs days, it was assumed that upon learning this he helped create and found the titular organization, bringing the technical finnesse to Professor Hazard's creative drive and gusto. However following the THAT AWFUL DAY retcon at Haz Labs, Fybertech continuity was changed, inventing it's own story for that time, wherein upon realizing that his passion was tinkering, and that he needed the ideal place to do this, Fyber would construct a remote lab on old family lands. In this new (and so far current) version, he began to build his new lab in a cavern somewhere in the eastern Appalachians, using both his knowledge and materials he had acquired during his previous adventures with the Zentaxians. Also during this time, he befriended Boris, who shared a similar outlook on technology, and more importantly, helped with some funds in a pinch.
Conflict of Interest
Just when the lab was starting to come together, Fyber accidentally crossed paths with Arvix and the events of The De Novo Project occured. Culminating from this, Fyber decided that Earth wasn't ready for advanced technology, particularly not in the hands of the few and geared towards weapons and power seeking, and he unnofficially founds Fybertech to prevent this.
Personality
Fyber is the conssumate tinkerer, prefering a lot of time to himself to build and maintain elaborate technology. He's capable of getting along with people, but not in Boris' official bussinesslike way or Vito's charming rogueishness. Fyber is earnest and plainspoken, but also maintains an air of mystery by refusing to discuss his past much or reveal everything about his plans or work. Fyber holds a wider worldview than most in that he has actually interacted with the interstellar community and realises after the Arvix encounters that Earth isn't ready for as much development yet. Fyber's reasoning is altruistic, but this doesn't prevent the occasional conflict between him and Boris, who sees the advanced technology more like an eager bussinessman.
Gear
Fyber is armed at various time with a broken Zentaxian HEAT unit, a fully functional Zentaxian HEAT unit, a disrepaired Zentaxian heat unit modified with Earth components to become a large generator, an Earth based HEAT unit, and various other devices of his own tinkered design as needed. Various HEAT technology filled all the offensive and defensive requirements of multiple other weapons, and Fyber never used much Earth based gear, finding guns distasteful in De Novo.
