I can totally get behind this type of thing, myself. You should be able to buy the hardware and just pay for the service like in the old days, not be stuck paying bloated monthly fees to "lease" the shit.

I only played through a small goblin campaign, and the character planning/time investment turned me off it. But it looks like one of the more in-depth browser games out there, I was impressed.
