Title: Super Secrect Joefus Comics (SSJ Comics)
Post by: Joefus on December 11, 2005, 10:55:09 am
Well while digging through my hard drive I located some of my original comics.  They were of course BnG rip offs to some extent.  I thought what the heck lets post them for you guys to see.  You may laugh, you'll probably cry, but you should definatly learn some kind of lesson here.

MM21:  Notice how the background is just plain one color?  Yeah that's crap I should have atleast drawn some little lights.  Also note how the text box is right next to left side of the text.

MM22:  We still have the same bg problems, except this is slightly fixed in the second row, but not really.  Next realize there is no pixel integrity.  This results in Dr. Light having eyebrows in his eyes ( :o ) and over them.  This also makes it hard to tell when someone is talking and really screws with their 8 bit emotions

Aniplay 3:  This comic was made for a friend of mine who was big on anime (thus the name).  The guy in red is Ranma from Ranma .5, the other one is Duo from Gundam Wing.  This ones almost ok, except for some really obvious problems.  Firstly, there's no text balloon outlines!! and that means there's no text ballon tail!!  Thank God I color coded the text.  Also there's some minor sprite problems with Duo sprites hair, and the Deathscythe (despite looking awsome) has a beam that doesn't fit the rest of the sprite.

MM30a:  Oh look it's X and Zero in some shitty looking town.  Big lesson to learn here:  Do not make a background that is just plain simple shapes like this.  Let us also notice how Zero's sprite changes from the first panel to the second panel.  Also we have the same problem with text boxes where there is no outline and the left edge of the text is jammed against the box edge.  For tails, we simply have random outcroppings from the text.  It looks terrible.  and then the Mega Man army doesn't even move its mouth.

That's all for now cause 4 attachments is all I'm allowed at one time.  There's lots more where these came from maybe I'll post some more, maybe not.  I hope I didn't dry out all your tear ducts, but I do hope you learned some valuable lessons in how not to make a sprite comic, or maybe you learned some other lesson.

It's always fun to look back and laugh at the days when we were newbies.

I like how there's a gundam in there. Gundam Wing is my all time favorite show ever. However, Epyon should totally be there too.
