A few people have been asking me how to get to the Snipe Hunt chat, and while it should be up to them to explain to people how to do it, it's apparently not happening, so here I go helping anyway . . !
If you're using the hchat mirc and you're at #fybertech or #hazardlabs on Fybernet, you can type the following to open a new server window:
/server -m irc.esper.net -j #snipe-hunt
This will let you stay in #fybertech/#hazardlabs as well as go to where they're at. If you've permanently switched over to the snipe channel already and want to get back to #fybertech or #hazardlabs on Fybernet, just use:
/server -m irc.fybertech.net -j #fybertech
And that'll open another server window back, leaving you in snipe chat as well.
If you happened to have gotten the Snipe Hunt version of mirc, I suggest you erase it, since CERTAIN DUMB PEOPLE I WON'T MENTION LIKE JAKAL decided to take my name and such off of it without asking me despite it all still being my code. To make matters worse, he changed some command and variable names in the scripts I wrote which will only confuse you, and removed other stuff (like the mp3 player) which you might have wanted, for some stupid reason I'll never know. Don't ask me to help you with that version cause I won't.
If/when they fix their own version, the above commands to open a server window back to #fybertech will still work if you take a notion you want to join. But again, don't expect me to help you with whatever they put together, because that's their job. I will however continue to support the hchat mirc and the fybertech version which will be released shortly, if you have any questions about those.
You can also ask general IRC questions here if you want, so feel free~

Thanks for that command line Fyber, I was really getting annoyed at having two irc windows open so I could hang out at both places. This solves my problems!!

Before mIRC had that feature to open multiple servers, I wrote a big script to do something pretty similar. It wasn't nearly as good as how they handle it in the program now of course, but people were like "omf how are you just using one mirc". But then it became obsolete and I cried a little and went home.

I know this should be under the SSBM topic, but you just made me think of it. Anyone else notice that sometimes when making a recovery Kirby will go "O-Shi!" the little pink puff is cursing I tells you.

The reason I ask is because I can't remember the command to join the other server and I ahve to keep coming to this topic and copying+pasting.

I thought I mentioned it before how to make a shortcut. I told somebody or other.
Anyhoo, you can create some aliases, such as /gosnipehunt and /gofybertech:
/alias /gosnipehunt /server -m irc.esper.net -j #snipe-hunt
/alias /gofybertech /server -m irc.fybertech.net -j #fybertech
Just paste those in chat or something, then you can use those shortcut commands to connect/join.

now lets say I though gofybertech was to long a key word, could I just put fyber in there instead and that be the key word?

Buzzard happened to mention that we should do that IdleRPG thing, and since I had thought it sounded interesting when I once heard about it, I thought it was worth looking into, considering how dead the chat's been lately. And so, I revived Fyborg, who now hosts our very own game!
IdleRPG is basically a game you win at by idling in chat. In our case though I've disabled penalties for talking, since that kind of defeats the purpose of having it in the main chat. You also get penalized for changing your name, quitting, etc. I considered taking some other penalties out, but then I realized nobody would ever be able to catch up if we didn't leave most of'em in there.
Here are the commands (http://idlerpg.numist.net/). Just ignore the server/channel/bot name they give. You'll want to /msg Fyborg, not /msg IdleBot. Or better yet, just double-click his name and send commands that way.
I've never played this before either, so most of the settings are at the default. If its announcements get very instrusive though, I'll move it to another room, and re-enable the talk penalty for there.
